Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr
Location: Chicago, IL
A long-standing, family-owned company (130+ years in business) is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and help modernize processes as the organization continues to grow.
This is a tight-knit, collaborative team where everyone pitches in — the ideal hire is hands‑on, reliable, and enjoys being the go‑to person for accounting operations.
What You’ll Do
Own the full month‑end close and prepare financial statements
Manage balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany activity, and inventory adjustments
Process payroll in Paylocity, including commissions
Support A/P & A/R as needed (team is long‑tenured and stable)
Complete timely bank reconciliations (within 30 days)
Partner with external CPA for tax‑related items
Oversee insurance and 401(k) administrative tasks
Drive process improvements and contribute to ERP (Acumatica) enhancements
What They’re Looking For
5–8+ years of hands‑on accounting experience in a small‑business environment ($10–40M revenue ideal)
Strong close experience and comfort with multi‑entity accounting
Ability to lead and support long‑tenured team members
Manufacturing or production experience a plus
Must be comfortable being fully onsite, Monday–Friday
A true do’er — someone who likes rolling up their sleeves and improving processes
