nPOSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager ensures the accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions. Directly supervises and evaluates the day-to-day activities of designated personnel and works cross-functionally with various teams throughout the organization.
nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
nnnSupports the team’s month-end closing activities including the completion of journal entries, account reconciliations, and expense variance explanations.
n
nnPrepares and maintains well-defined financial reports for use in validating and analyzing financial results.
n
nnMaintains accurate records and completes timely submissions for business operating permits and licensing.
n
nnRoutinely works with the various financial systems used by the department to research and answer questions related to the financial statements
n
nnAssist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
n
nnSeeks opportunities to modify or enhance current business processes to ensure optimal productivity.
n
nnBuilds and develops strong relationships with others throughout the organization to develop solutions to new situations and to identify or correct problems.
n
nnCompiles internal process memos, process mapping, and other documentation related to accounting transactions and journal entries.
n
nnALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

n nEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
nnnGeneral knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
n
nnMinimum Degree Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Finance.
n
nnCertificate(s) or License(s) preferred: CPA, PMP
n
nnYears of experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
n
n nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
nnnExperience managing a team.
n
nnKnowledge of advanced formulas and pivot tables in Excel.
n
nnAbility to set, measure and consistently achieve goals within established timelines.
n
nnWillingness to develop team members for additional responsibility.
n
nnAbility to communicate clearly both in written and verbal interactions.
n
nnPossesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
n nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
nnMinimal overnight travel required; may occasionally include attendance at overnight conferences or professional development events.
n nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
nRegularly sits and works on a computer.
nOccasionally stands and walks.
nSeldom/never lifts up to 50 lbs.
nINDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :
nDevelops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within the general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
