This Accounting Manager leads the corporate accounting team that keeps the firm's own books (the management company, not the funds). You will report to the Corporate Controller, lead a team of three, and work closely with the CFO, FP&A, fund accounting, tax, and legal.
What you'll own
Lead and develop a team of three accountants
Run the corporate GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close
Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting, and analysis for leadership
Account for the firm's GP investments: capital contributions, distributions, and investment activity
Own the annual audit with the external auditors, including schedules and support
Support regulatory, tax, and compliance reporting
Tighten controls and streamline close and reporting workflows
Get more out of NetSuite and the rest of the finance stack
What you bring
CPA (required)
5 to 10 years of accounting experience, ideally starting in public accounting
Strong U.S. GAAP, GL, close, and financial statement skills
Hands-on audit support experience
Experience leading, reviewing, or training other accountants
Strong Excel
Nice to have
Asset management, hedge fund, private equity, or trading firm experience
GP investment, xavwley partnership, or investment-related accounting
NetSuite (or a similar GL) and Concur
Details
Hybrid: 4 days a week in the Skokie area office, Fridays from home
$140,000 to $180,000 base, DOE, plus 20% target bonus
