POSITION SUMMARY:
nIndoff is a subsidiary of a publicly owned, nationwide distributor. The Accounting Manager over our finance department is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of day-to-day accounting transactions. This position manages staff whose responsibilities include cash applications, sales taxes, banking transactions, overhead payables, sales commissions, invoice portals, journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end closing.
nnWe are in the Westport area of St. Louis County, and the position is an in-office role.
nnKey Duties and Responsibilities:
nnnEnsure timely completion of all cash receipts, portal invoices, sales tax filings, expense reports, journal entries, account reconciliations and other finance department tasks
nReview and approve monthly commission adjustments
nReview and approve various accounting transactions that exceed certain limits
nReview all Sales & Use Tax and Business Licenses notices and ensure returns are filed timely
nServe as back up to all roles in the department
nAssist in the development of finance procedures and policies and keep manuals up to date
nManage adherence to accounting controls
nAssist with internal audits and periodic sales tax audits
nUtilize Crystal Reports for financial analysis and reporting
nConducts bi-annual performance reviews and manages the ADP time system
nSpecial accounting projects as assigned by Controller, CFO or President
n nnQualifications:
nnnMinimum of bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
n5-10 years' experience in management of an accounting department
nPublic accounting or public company SOX experience is a plus
nExperience using large ERP systems such as JD Edwards- Oracle, PeopleSoft or SAP
