nPosition Summary:
nThe Sporlan Division is seeking an Accounting Manager who will report to the Division Controller and play an important role within the organization. The Accounting Manager will work closely with other functional leaders and managers - working to support improved growth and profitability using strong analytical and business partnering skills. This position will be accountable for the safeguarding and ethical accounting of their sites’ assets in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles. This includes the domestic facilities as well as locations in Mexico and Quebec. In addition, the Accounting Manager will develop and administer to all their sites the accounting function with the Win Strategy.
nEssential Functions:
nnnFunctions include budgeting, planning, internal control oversight, financial reporting both internal and external, financial performance measurement, financial system implementation, and technical accounting support and guidance.

nnContinually reviews the accounting requirements of the Division and directs the development and installation of appropriate systems.

nnDrives the financial information/process technology strategy needed to support the leadership and operations teams at the Division’s 10 facilities, spread across 4 states and 3 countries.

nnPrepares statements of monthly financial data including income statement and balance sheet. Analysis of financial results as compared to monthly objectives.
n
nnResponsible for the financial performance measurements within the division, while ensuring financial performance reporting is accurate and timely meeting the constant changing need of the division and group.

nnAccountable for proper procedures, policies and controls being in place in order to maintain adequate internal controls.
n
nnResponsible for internal and external reporting and for maintaining integrity, while assuring that Generally Accepted Accounting Practices are in place. Ensures compliance with local statutory reporting.

nnRespond to special financial requests and analysis and communicate potential problem areas. Conduct financial reviews/analysis as requested

nnLeads the talent management and employee development processes for the accounting team. Ensures technically qualified personnel are placed in all positions and has training and development programs available. At least annually, reviews succession plans.

nnDirects the annual division planning process with emphasis on installing a proactive reporting system needed to support the management decision-making process.

nnReviews and evaluates investments in all operating assets.

n nQualifications:
nnnBS degree in accounting, finance, or economics. Advanced degree preferred.
n
nn7-10 years' experience in general and cost accounting area.
n
nnDemonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.
n
nnCapable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.

nnThorough understanding of business and financial systems and controls, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements. Ability to control costs and effectively implement programs with impact to division-wide efforts. Highly effective and persuasive in developing and maintaining customer/internal client relationships.
