If you're someone who likes things to balance, appreciates a good checklist, and takes pride in accurate work, this could be a great long-term opportunity.This position works closely with the Owner, our CPA, and our Fractional CFO, but your primary responsibility is making sure the day-to-day accounting and payroll functions are completed accurately and on time.What You'll DoMaintain QuickBooks for multiple business entitiesProcess Accounts PayableSend customer invoicesFollow up on Accounts ReceivableProcess weekly payrollTrack PTO, sick time, and employee recordsComplete bank and credit card reconciliationsManage background checks, drug screens, and MVRsTrack Workers' Compensation and unemployment claimsMaintain organized financial and personnel recordsAssist with month-end accountingWork with our CPA and Fractional CFO to ensure our financial records are accurate and up to dateWe're Looking For Someone Who...Has bookkeeping or accounting experienceEnjoys payroll and working with numbersIs highly organized and detail-orientedTakes pride in accuracyIs dependable and accountableCan work independently and manage multiple prioritiesCommunicates professionally and enjoys being part of a teamQuickBooks experience is required.Experience with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations is also important.Why This Role MattersWhen this job is done well:Payroll is accurate.Bills get paid on time.Invoices go out promptly.Financial records are organized.Collections stay current.Leadership has confidence in the numbers.The rest of the team can focus on helping our clients and associates.While much of your work happens behind the scenes, it has a direct impact on our employees, our clients, and the people we help every day.About ExpressExpress Employment Professionals is a locally owned staffing company serving New York's Capital Region.
