Accounting SpecialistWe are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a team in Merced, California in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This on-site position offers the opportunity to support core accounting operations across payroll, payables, receivables, and financial reporting while helping maintain accurate and organized records. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential information in a structured environment.Duties include:Support daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.Maintain organized financial records and documentation for payroll, retirement reporting, payables, receivables, and related accounting activities.Assist with improving accounting processes and recordkeeping practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Prepare financial, statistical, and other routine reports by compiling data from multiple sources.Process grant reimbursement requests, record deposits, and review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.Reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and help resolve issues in a timely manner.Serve as a resource to internal teams by providing guidance on financial procedures and documentation requirements.Handle sensitive employee and organizational information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.Provide additional administrative and accounting support as needed, including maintaining well-organized filing systems.
