Job description
Finance ManagerResponsible for processing and reporting of all incoming funds for the church and school. Coordinate volunteer counters, check processors, and deposit preparers. Research and resolve problems with deposits, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable payments, returned checks, online giving, etc. Perform monthly GL reconciliations and financial analysis as needed. Support the ministries with monthly reporting and analysis. Suggest process and procedure improvements.Key Responsibilities:Manage and process contributions in Sage Intacct and ROCK.Balance and prepare contributions deposits.Reconcile monthly contributions reports from church data management system to general ledger.Manage midweek non-contribution deposits.Oversee and train volunteers and ensure processes are met.Process VCA tuition and non-tuition cash receipts.Prepare and mail quarterly and year-end giving statements.Manage donor relationships, resolve online giving issues where applicable.Serve as Subject Matter Expert in administration of all contributions related matters.Ensure year-end change over for the office.Assist with quarterly and year-end tax filings and reporting.Maintain filing records for Finance department.Reconcile balance sheet accounts under the direction of the Director of Finance.Reconcile bank statements in Sage Intacct financial system.Responsible for reporting contributions and non-contributions income.Perform monthly financial analysis, as required.Perform other duties, as assigned.The above summary represents the major tasks and duties. Therefore, the individual may perform other related tasks as needed to support the ministries of Venture Christian Church.Qualifications – Education, Skills, Experience:College degree in finance or accounting preferred.Minimum of 3 years relevant accounts payable and revenue recording.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management.Positive attitude, solid problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and quick responses in fast-paced settings.Exceptional organizational and time management skills with strong business acumen.Able to shift priorities as needed in a dynamic work environment.Able to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly-sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and professionalism.Flexible and willing to learn and work through ambiguity.Strong commitment to personal and professional growth.Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.Additional Expectations:Has accepted Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.Articulates and models a Christ-centered life consistent with Scripture; a growing and visible personal relationship with Jesus Christ.Actively engaged in the life of the church and ministry outside the daily time at work.Fully support the mission, vision, doctrinal statements, strategy, and leadership of Venture Christian Church.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, speak, hear, read, and use a computer. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift 25 lbs., open filing cabinets, bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.Work Schedule: Generally, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. flexibility with schedule to meet position or program requirements. Additional workdays or hours may be required for events, volunteer training, and programs, etc. Schedule may change based on ministry and organizational needs.
