Job description
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. DOE 65-70k
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
Monitor customer and vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Prepare financial reports, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
Assist with audits by providing required financial information and supporting documentation.
Support payroll processing and related reconciliations, as needed.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or SAP.
Knowledge of GAAP principles.
Experience in payroll processing and reconciliations.
Accounting certification or coursework is a plus.
