Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist with a strong background in construction accounting and Accounts Payable to join a well-established, family-owned construction management and general contracting firm with a long history of delivering high-quality projects across a diverse range of industries.

The ideal candidate understands the unique requirements of construction A/P, including job costing, cost codes, AIA billing, retainage, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices .
Key Responsibilities
Scan and import expense invoices and subcontractor applications into a cloud-based invoice approval system
Review, code, and distribute invoices to project managers and owners for approval
Export approved invoices and transactions into Sage accounting software
Ensure invoices are accurately coded to the appropriate jobs and cost codes
Support A/P processes involving purchase orders, subcontractors, AIA billing, and retainage
Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems, including daily and year-end records
Track and reconcile use tax
Monitor receipts and reconcile company credit card activity
Ensure accounting transactions are processed accurately and within appropriate accounting periods
Work closely with project managers, owners, and accounting team members to resolve invoice and coding questions
Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization
Qualifications
Prior Accounts Payable experience within the construction xhqgsiq industry required
Strong understanding of construction job costing and cost codes
Experience with AIA billing and retainage
Familiarity with purchase orders and subcontract agreements
Experience working with Sage or a similar construction accounting/ERP system
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Solid understanding of accounting principles and accounting dates
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
