Accounts Payable & Accounting SpecialistTES Staffing is partnering with a well-established and growing organization in the Rochester area to identify an Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to join their finance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the organization's accounts payable process while supporting broader accounting operations, including month-end close activities.The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping practices. This individual will collaborate closely with the accounting team to maintain accurate financial records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.Compensation starting between $55-60K annually, with the opportunity to grow based on experience and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, and entry into the accounting systemAssign vendor numbers and verify correct general ledger and accounting codesMaintain vendor records and ensure accurate supplier information and invoice documentationInvestigate and resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies in a timely mannerMatch invoices with packing slips and receiving documentation to ensure accuracyPrepare, process, and distribute vendor payments, including check runsMaintain organized and compliant accounting files and documentationReconcile EFT bank statements and company credit card statements, ensuring proper GL codingPrepare weekly general ledger proof reportsAssist with monthly purchase journal reconciliation and tax summary preparation for the accounting teamSupport month-end closing activities and other accounting initiatives as neededPerform additional accounting or administrative duties as assignedRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of bookkeeping principles and generally accepted accounting practicesHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and WordExperience working with accounting software systemsExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to follow both written and verbal instructions with accuracyEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's Degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, walk, and use hands frequently throughout the workdayOccasionally required to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when necessary
