AP SpecialistAt Cobalt Truck Equipment, we specialize in constructing custom, fully equipped trucks tailored to the unique needs of its clientele. Whether serving the construction, utility, or heavy equipment sectors, Cobalt has earned the trust of industry professionals who rely on their mechanics trucks, lube trucks, utility bodies, platforms, and more.The AP Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for managing accounts payable and ensuring timely processing of invoices, which directly impacts cash flow and vendor relationships. Additionally, the AP Specialist will assist in internal audits and contributing to accurate financial reporting. By prioritizing workload effectively, this role ensures that all financial tasks are completed within deadlines, supporting the overall efficiency of the accounting department.Key responsibilities include:Manage company credit cards/reimbursables & post payment.Manage accounts payable, including invoice verification and payment processing.Supplier setup including verification of W-9 informationConduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.Support internal audit processes by providing necessary documentation and reports.Analyze discrepancies and help resolve accounting variancesEnsure compliance with company policies and accounting standardsAssist with internal and external controlsCoordinate with other departments to gather financial informationCommunicate with vendors, clients and internal staff regarding payments and account issuesProvide general administrative support to the accounting departmentAssist with employee expense processing and reconciliationPrepare and file annual 1099'sHelp improve and streamline accounting processes and workflowsBackup for administration supportMinimum qualifications include:Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, especially during peak periods.Cost accounting and account reconciliation skillsOrganizational and time-management skillsProficient in Excel and accounting systemsStrong communication skillsStrong attention to detail requiredPreferred qualifications include:Experience in the manufacturing industry.Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.This position works in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
