Job description
Accounts Receivable SpecialistThe Accounts Receivable Specialist is primarily responsible for managing and maintaining customer accounts by sending out billing forms in a timely manner, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.Essential FunctionsProcess accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and proceduresPerform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables' dataReconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.Verify discrepancies and resolve clients' billing issues.Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.Executes waivers, sworn statements, affidavits, etc. to send with billings or to secure payment.Communicates to admin additional paperwork needed to collect payment.Trains and assists new AR SpecialistsMark ARs with collection codes for Managers to better evaluate problems.Reviews and applies money from suspenseMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma with extensive experience in customer service field.One to three years prior related work experienceExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.A self-starter capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing.Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Ability to take initiative in completing assigned work and projects.Preferred RequirementsBS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred, or the equivalent coursework in a related specialized field.Physical RequirementsThis position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time – up to 8 hours a day.No unusual environmental, lifting or exertion requirements are associated with this positionBenefits and CompensationThe salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $24.04/hour and 28.85/hour.
