ACE HARDWARE LUMBER YARD ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Summary: A Greer's Ace Hardware Lumber Yard Associate supports daily yard operations by providing outstanding customer service, safely handling building materials, and maintaining an organized, efficient yard. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to delivering the high level of service Greer's customers expect.Key Responsibilities1. Deliver "Helpful" Customer ServiceGreet every customer promptly and provide needed assistanceHelp customers select lumber, plywood, and building materialsSafely and efficiently load materials into customer vehiclesAnticipate customer needs and go the extra step to assistRepresent Greer's values: friendly, knowledgeable, and dependableAssist customers in taking and pulling accurate lumber ordersProperly ring up lumber orders2. Yard Operations & Material HandlingReceive, unload, and organize incoming deliveries of lumber and materialPull and stage customer orders accurately and efficientlyOperate forklift and equipment safely (training/certification provided)Inspect materials for quality and report damage or shortages3. Maintain a Clean, Organized YardKeep yard, racks, and drive lanes clean, neat, and accessibleProperly stack and store lumber to prevent damage and ensure safetyRotate inventory and protect materials from weather when neededSupport store cleanliness and merchandising standards4.
