Job description
Job TitleConducts activities assessments on all new admissions to the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Provides activities including but not limited to crafts, cooking, Wii, bingo, etc. Maintains a monthly calendar/schedule of activities provided. Seeks input and direction from OT/PT/SLP staff to provide patient centered activities. Completes computer charting in flowsheet format to document participation and tolerance to activity. Communicates with interdisciplinary rehab team including physiatrist. Most activities are provided in the evenings or on weekends.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertification/LicensureBLS certification within 90 days of hireOther Skills and AbilitiesProblem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers information and reports as appropriate. Technical Skills - Some experience with crafts, cooking, and other leisure activities. Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on resolving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; remains open to others' ideas and tries new things. Motivation - Self-directed in daily work routine; remains productive during work hours; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions. Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment. Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time, ready to start shift.
