Acute Care Surgeon Opportunity
The Division of Acute Care Surgery (ACS) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha seeks a dedicated Acute Care Surgeon to join a collaborative team of 20 surgeons and a robust group of advanced practice providers. The role requires leading the delivery of high‑quality, compassionate care in a dynamic, high‑volume environment.
Scope of Practice and Responsibilities
Elective and emergency general surgery
Trauma surgery
Surgical critical care
Management of high‑acuity patients
Participation in clinical research and educational programs
Mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students
Qualifications
MD/DO or equivalent degree
Board certification or eligibility in Surgical Critical Care
Completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care
Strong interest in teaching and training
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting
