Acute Care Surgeon

Trauma * Emergency General Surgery * Surgical Critical Care

The Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery at NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a fellowship-trained Acute Care Surgeon to join our ACS-COT verified, NY State-designated Level II Trauma Center. This is a rare chance to help build a rapidly growing program from the ground up, a true community hospital environment backed by the full resources and reputation of NYU Langone Health.

Opportunity Highlights

ACS-COT verified, NY State-designated Level II Trauma Center

High-volume, rapidly growing practice with 1,000+ trauma admissions and 2,000+ trauma activations annually

Major campus investment underway: The new NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Patchogue (opened 2026, six operating rooms) is already live, with a 5-story, 144-room private medical/surgical and ICU bed tower now under construction, as part of an estimated $650 million campus upgrade

Core practice in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care with elective general surgery opportunities

Academic faculty appointment through NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine (NYU GLISOM)

Qualifications

Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery

Board Certified/Eligible in Surgical Critical Care

Additional training in an Acute Care Surgery fellowship desirable

Compensation: $350,000-$450,000. Competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience.
