Position Overview
The Feinstein School of Education and Human Development ( FSEHD ) at Rhode Island College prepares educators, counselors, school psychologists, wellness and exercise science, and youth development professionals who positively impact schools, communities, and the lives of children, youth, and adults. The FSEHD is committed to excellence, equity, inclusion, community engagement, and preparing highly qualified professionals throughout Rhode Island and beyond.
The FSEHD invites applications from qualified professionals interested in serving as adjunct faculty teaching content, practicum, or seminar courses and/or supervising student teachers or interns across its undergraduate and graduate programs.
Department of Elementary Education – Programs:
Elementary Education undergraduate Program
Elementary Education MAT graduate Program
Reading Specialist Program
Early Childhood Undergraduate Program
Early Childhood Undergraduate Certificate Program – Bilingual Spanish/English
Assignments may include:
Teaching undergraduate or graduate content courses.
Teaching practicum, internship, or seminar courses.
Serving as a college supervisor.
Supervising student teachers or interns in PK-12 settings or counseling, youth development, or wellness and exercise community organizations.

Occasional Duties
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the FSEHD .
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Required Qualifications
Relevant professional experience in the field.
Experience working with diverse learners and communities.
Strong communication, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate Degree preferred.
Environmental Conditions
The employee is not exposed to known adverse environmental conditions.
