Adjunct Faculty - Dental Hygiene (Supervising Dentist)Taft CollegeTaft, CA, United States**Description**Adjunct Faculty- Dental Hygiene (Supervising Dentist) Priority Application Deadline: November 1st (open until filled) Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2027 Semester POSITION DESCRIPTION Taft College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed (as specified in Education Code ). We are seeking highly qualified candidates for inclusion in a pool to serve as supervising dentists in the Dental Hygiene (AS Degree) Program for the Spring 2027 semester and beyond. Note: Course assignments for this position will be in-person. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Dental degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation, and possess the following: an active California dental license or special permit with no disciplinary actions; or a postsecondary credential generally recognized in the field of instruction; or a degree in the subject being taught or evaluated AND documented background in educational methodology which can be verified through continuing education certificate; AND Supervising dentist faculty shall have direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the dental hygiene area to which he or she is assigned, which can be met by either: two (2) years' experience providing direct patient care as a dentist; or one (1) academic year of dental or dental hygienist level clinical teaching experience; AND Active California dental license and current CPR. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students COMPENSATION $80.78- $94.91 per hour. A current Resume Complete transcripts of all college/university coursework (unofficial is acceptable). Three (3) professional references. FOREIGN TRANSCRIPTS Transcripts issued outside the United States of America require a course-by-course analysis with an equivalency statement from a certified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency to that of an accredited institution within the USA.
