Position Overview
Moore Marine College is seeking a versatile and student-focused Adjunct Professor to teach one or two undergraduate-level or graduate level coursework in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and/or genetics .
This is an on-site position at our Clearwater, Florida campus. Associate Professors are compensated per course for a 14-week semester, with classes meeting in 1.5-hour sessions twice per week .
This is a teaching-focused position designed for an educator who can deliver strong foundational science instruction while helping students connect these concepts to real-world marine biology applications.
Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas: Biochemistry
Organic Chemistry
Genetics
Develop and oversee introductory laboratory components , including: Basic chemical and molecular techniques
Sample analysis and data interpretation
Lab safety and protocol instruction
Integrate core scientific concepts into marine and environmental contexts
Support student learning, engagement, and academic development
Assist with curriculum development as programs expand
Qualifications
Master’s degree required; Ph.D. preferred in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field
Prior teaching experience preferred (college-level a plus)
Laboratory experience required
Ability to teach across multiple disciplines is highly desirable
Strong communication skills and a student-centered teaching approach
