Administrative Assistant 3Northwestern State University of Louisiana is seeking qualified applicants for the Administrative Assistant 3 position in the School of Education.The Administrative Assistant (Level 3) plays a key support role in the NSU School of Education, a division of the Gallaspy College of Education and Human Development recognized for preparing exceptional educators and promoting academic excellence. The School of Education seeks a detail-oriented, service-focused professional to provide administrative support related to university processes, Louisiana teacher certification requirements, and the progression of educator candidates through their academic and clinical experiences. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:Responds to inquiries regarding teacher candidacy, certification, program requirements, and student status; verifies eligibility and directs complex inquiries to appropriate personnel.Maintains candidate records and files, including transcripts, grades, testing results, recommendations, background checks, and certification documentation.Collects, reviews, and reports candidate and program data; prepares reports, correspondence, forms, and other documents in accordance with applicable requirements.Provides administrative support to faculty and program coordinators, including scheduling, document preparation, meeting support, student assistance, and event coordination.Serves as a liaison among university offices, students, faculty, recruiting programs, and partner school districts; communicates program information and maintains external partnerships and agreements.Maintains program materials, office records, equipment, supplies, and resources and performs other administrative duties as needed.Position-Specific Details:Appointment type: Full-time, ProbationalWork schedule: Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PMWork location: The School of EducationHow To Apply:No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
