Committed to being the community college for both Cayuga and Oswego counties, the College offers transfer and career-oriented curricula on a degree and certificate basis through day, evening, online, and summer sessions. We are committed to student success and providing accessible learning opportunities that lead to valuable career and transfer pathways.Job DescriptionDepartment: Human ResourcesAppointment: 12 Months (Educational Support Professionals)Reports To: Director of Human ResourcesSummary: The Administrative Assistant performs confidential, complex tasks and support for executive-level professionals, exercises independent judgment, and performs administrative and office support activities for Human Resources and Finance. Duties include preparing confidential materials for executive-level professionals, disseminating information regarding policies and practices, fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and filing.General Functions:Prepare confidential correspondence, documents, letters, reports and other materials for executive-level professionals within Finance, Payroll, and Human Resources.Provide administrative support for area projects and initiatives; Exercise independent judgment in completing assignments and disseminating information regarding policies and practices; work with HR and Finance in complying with all College policies; Answer telephones and respond to inquiries in an appropriate, professional, and confidential manner; convey a positive demeanor/attitude in all interactions. May handle first level consultation to resolve employee relations issues.Utilize technology and databases as appropriate (Banner, OnBase, Hirezon); Schedules meetings, take and maintain minutes of meetings, Councils, and Committees as needed; Support the Human Resources and Finance team with administrative tasks related to campus meetings including candidate interviews and travel, events, and other sponsored activities.Coordinate and facilitate robust new hire onboarding meetings. Assists in the management of employee fringe benefit programs, new employee orientation, annual evaluation tracking, compliance trainings and related paperwork. Assist the Accountant position in gathering of invoices, as well as emails associated with the processing of accounts payable, and other payable functions. Assists payroll with retirement buyback time requests and other continued varied support such as health insurance billing.Assists with gathering documentation for reimbursement on capital projects and grants; Assists in assembling the annual budget documents; May supervise student workers. Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State Registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration or closely related field and one year of administrative or supervisory office or program management experience with a public agency or private business; OR Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State Registered two year college or university with an Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration or closely related field and three years of administrative or supervisory office or program management experience with a public agency or private business; OR Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five years of administrative or supervisory office or program management experience with a public agency or private business; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C).Application Instructions: To be considered for this position, please submit resume and cover letter at the time of application.
