Job description
IT Administrative CoordinatorThe IT Administrative Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and coordination support to the Information Technology Department. This position manages calendars, correspondence, procurement paperwork, asset records, onboarding and offboarding logistics, vendor files, and departmental reporting so technical staff can focus on systems support, infrastructure, and project delivery. The role serves all Town departments that rely on IT services and requires discretion, organization, and a working familiarity with municipal operations.Education, Experience and Licenses:High school diploma or equivalent required.Associate's degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.Two (2) or more years of administrative, office coordination, or operations support experience required.Experience in local government, public-sector, or IT departmental support is highly desirable.Experience with purchase orders, inventory tracking, or ticketing systems is preferred.Valid Virginia driver's license and an acceptable driving record required.Special Requirements:Must successfully complete background and drug screen required by the Town, as well as successfully complete and maintain eligibility for required state and national fingerprint-based background checks in accordance with CJIS Security Policy.Must exercise discretion with confidential municipal, personnel, and technology information.May occasionally be required to work outside normal business hours during emergencies, major outages, or scheduled maintenance.May be designated to support continuity-of-operations or emergency response administrative tasks as assigned.
