Administrative Specialist - Kiewit Power ConstructorsLocation: Lenexa, KS, USPosition OverviewThe primary focus of this role is to provide a wide range of administrative services for department managers. To execute this role effectively the assistant should have a high degree of situational awareness and be technically proficient, able to work independently, proactive, flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player. Works effectively in a complex and demanding environment while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor. Continually requires a high degree of autonomy. The role necessitates collaborating with multiple projects and departments.District OverviewKiewit Power Constructors (KPC) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force. Kiewit Power Constructors builds major EPC power plant and solar projects throughout North America. We offer integrated engineering, procurement, construction and startup service needs, specializing in gas and coal-fired power generation, coal retrofit and renewable energy.LocationThe position is based out of Lenexa, KS.ResponsibilitiesEdit and format communications, presentations, proposals and reportsCoordinate and schedule meetings and appointments, manage calendars, and provide general office supportAssist with travel itineraries and arrangementsProcess expense reports, invoices and ordersServe as a back-up to other office administrative staffPerform other administrative duties as required or assignedQualificationsAssociate or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience consideredAt least one year of experience as administrative assistantAt least one year of meeting and event planning experiencePreferred QualificationsHighly flexible and able to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environmentBe highly organized with exceptional time management skillsAbility to prioritize and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment, sometimes with minimal guidanceRequires skills in using computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet navigation, e-mail, and calendarsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn and adapt to new programs and processesOther RequirementsRegular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentPerform work safely and effectivelyUnderstand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policiesWork during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlinesWork overtime and weekends as requiredMay work at various different locations and conditions may vary
