Administrative Support Assistant IIPOSITION GOALTo perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the efficient and effective operations of the office.ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESPerform a variety of clerical duties to support supervisory and administrative personnel in handling dailyReceive, research, route and/or respond to inquiries from parents, students, staff and the general public, as required.Demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service, greeting students, parents, staff and visitors in a courteous manner and making every effort to address and resolve issues efficiently.Open mail and assemble related material to facilitate reply by an administrator, school principal, supervisor, or designee.Compose and edit routine correspondence, including forms, memoranda, reports, manuscripts, and other materials.Maintain an alphabetical, numerical, or simple subject matter filingReceive and route telephone calls, answering routine questionsGreet, assist and direct visitors as appropriate.Arrange meetings, conferences and business travel forMaintain data, statistics and other forms of information, preparing reports, asAssist in maintaining efficient office operations by providing clerical relief, as requiredInteract effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents, and administrators using tact and goodOperate standard office equipment, as required by the job.Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.Participate in training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to the job responsibilities.Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to jobEnsure adherence to safety rules andFollow federal and state laws, as well as School BoardPerform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, or designee.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEStandard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.A minimum of one (1) year, within the last five (5) years, of clerical work experience.Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures including filing, answering telephones, or utilizing standard office equipment.Proficient in the operation of office machinery and equipment, including personal computers, fax machines, printers, scanners, etc.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Advanced organization skills and keen attentiveness to detail.Computer skills as required for the position.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCESIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purposeFrequently works with parents and students, as necessary; interacts with staff and the general public regarding various inquiries.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTERMS OF EMPLOYMENTJob Description FooterAdvertisement Window: 09/30/2026 - Open Until FilledWork Calendar: 197 Day CalPay Grade: GRADE 13Classification: NonexemptCompensation Hourly Rate - $18.22 - $28.94 per hourShift Differential (If applicable) - / NOTE: New hires will be hired at the minimum of the assigned salary range
