Administrative Technology Support TechnicianProvides technical support for Central Administration and other district administrative offices to ensure the reliable operation of district-supported technology resources. Independently troubleshoots and resolves standard and moderately complex hardware, software, connectivity, peripheral, audio-visual, and end-user technology issues. Works collaboratively with the Central Administration Technology Operations Specialist to provide consistent technology support across district administrative facilities. Resolves issues within the scope of the position and escalates complex problems requiring advanced troubleshooting, specialized technical knowledge, or additional Technology Services support.High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical certification, preferred. Five years of experience providing technology support in a district office or similar large organization, required. Valid Texas driver's license and ability to operate a District vehicle required. K-12 public education experience preferred.Strong working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, peripheral equipment, audio-visual equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.Ability to independently diagnose and resolve standard and moderately complex technical issues.Ability to install, configure, maintain, and support district-approved technology resources.Ability to identify issues requiring advanced or specialized technical support and escalate appropriately.Ability to work independently and exercise sound technical judgment within established procedures.Ability to prioritize service requests and provide support across multiple administrative locations.Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.Ability to accurately document technical issues, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions.Ability to maintain confidentiality when supporting district administrative operations.Provides hands-on technical support for employees located within Central Administration and other district administrative offices.Independently troubleshoots and resolves standard and moderately complex issues involving district-supported hardware, software, applications, peripherals, connectivity, telecommunications, printing, and audio-visual technology.Installs, configures, maintains, and supports district-approved technology resources in accordance with established Technology Services standards and procedures.Provides technical support for administrative offices, conference rooms, meetings, presentations, and other district business operations.Performs appropriate troubleshooting and diagnostic activities and escalates complex or unresolved issues to the Central Administration Technology Operations Specialist or appropriate Technology Services team.Coordinates with Technology Services personnel when technical issues require specialized support involving network infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, telecommunications, audio-visual systems, or other district technology services.Responds to assigned technology incidents and service requests across district administrative facilities and prioritizes work based on operational impact and established service expectations.Supports employee technology setup, equipment moves, office relocations, and other changes affecting administrative technology resources.Assists with district-directed technology deployments and equipment replacements, including installation, configuration, testing, and implementation. This position does not have responsibility for lifecycle planning, replacement forecasting, purchasing strategy, or development of district technology standards.Maintains accurate technology asset information and assists with inventory verification, equipment transfers, repair processes, and other asset-accountability requirements.Documents technology incidents, service requests, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions through the district's approved ticketing system and maintains responsibility for assigned tickets through resolution or appropriate escalation.Identifies recurring technology issues and communicates trends, equipment concerns, and unresolved technical problems to the Central Administration Technology Operations Specialist or Technology Services leadership.Provides end-user guidance and technical assistance on district-supported technology resources as needed.Assists the Central Administration Technology Operations Specialist with Central Administration technology operations and provides additional coverage when needed.Assists with Board Room equipment setup, testing, and technical support when assigned. Primary responsibility for Board Room operational readiness and Board of Trustees meeting support remains with the Central Administration Technology Operations Specialist.Maintains current technical knowledge through district-provided training, professional development, technical documentation, and other appropriate learning opportunities.Adheres to district cybersecurity, data privacy, acceptable-use, software licensing, inventory, and information-security requirements.Maintains professional conduct and appropriate confidentiality when providing technology support within administrative and executive-office environments.Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of technology support operations.This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Ability to use peripheral devices, high level language programming concepts, data management software, and application development tools.Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear, to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and to stand and walk. The employee is required to regularly lift and carry (less than 15 pounds). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders.Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over).Occasional district-wide travel to multiple campuses, as assigned. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Work with frequent interruptions; emotional control under stress.
