Admissions RecruiterSanta Clarita, CA 91355 Start Date 09/28/2026OverviewSalary Range $21.00 - $23.00 HourlyDescriptionDepartment: Admissions Division/School: Admissions Job Title: Admissions Recruiter Reports To: Associate Director of Admissions Employment Type: Temporary Part-Time, Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit: Not Represented - Excluded Work Location: On-Site - Campus Benefits: This is a temporary position and is not eligible for benefits other than those required by applicable law.Position SummaryThe Temporary/Seasonal Admissions Recruiter provides recruitment and applicant engagement support during peak periods of the annual admissions cycle. The position represents CalArts at recruitment events, college fairs, high school visits, portfolio events, information sessions, and other outreach activities and provides prospective students with accurate and engaging information about CalArts programs and the admissions process.Working under the direction of the Admissions leadership, the Temporary/Seasonal Admissions Recruiter supports recruitment priorities, responds to prospective student inquiries, conducts outreach, and assists with recruitment events and activities. The position is intended to provide additional capacity during high-volume recruitment periods and does not have responsibility for developing institutional recruitment strategy or supervising staff.The Temporary/Seasonal Admissions Recruiter supports the implementation of established Admissions recruitment priorities but does not independently develop institutional recruitment strategy, manage recruitment budgets, supervise Admissions staff, make admissions decisions, or establish admissions policy.The position may provide information and guidance to prospective students and applicants but refers complex admissions, academic, financial aid, or other specialized questions to the appropriate Admissions or Institute staff.This is an on-campus position and is not designated as a hybrid or remote position. The role requires an on-campus presence when performing campus-based Admissions activities, in addition to off-campus recruitment and travel as assigned.This temporary position is not eligible for Institute benefits, except as required by applicable federal, state, or local law.Essential ResponsibilitiesRecruitment and OutreachRepresent CalArts at college fairs, high school visits, community events, portfolio events, information sessions, and other recruitment activities.Provide prospective students, families, counselors, and educators with accurate information about CalArts programs, the admissions process, application requirements, deadlines, and campus experience.Engage prospective students in meaningful conversations about their interests, goals, and potential fit with CalArts.Support recruitment outreach to prospective students and identified recruitment populations.Assist with follow-up communications to prospective students and event participants.Help maintain positive relationships with high school counselors, educators, arts organizations, and other recruitment contacts.Participate in recruitment travel as assigned.Applicant and Prospective Student EngagementRespond to routine questions from prospective students and applicants.Provide individualized guidance regarding admissions requirements and processes within established guidelines.Conduct prospective student outreach and follow-up as assigned.Connect students with appropriate Admissions staff or campus resources when questions require additional expertise.Document student interactions and follow-up in Slate or other designated systems.Recruitment EventsSupport planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.Assist with event registration, check-in, materials, technology, and other logistical needs.Participate in information sessions, presentations, panels, and other recruitment programming.Assist with portfolio days, auditions, fairs, school visits, and other prospective student activities.Provide feedback to Admissions leadership regarding event participation, student questions, and recruitment opportunities.Admissions Knowledge and RepresentationDevelop working knowledge of CalArts undergraduate and graduate programs and admissions requirements.Communicate accurately and consistently about CalArts programs, application processes, deadlines, and student opportunities.Maintain familiarity with current Admissions materials and approved recruitment messaging.Represent CalArts professionally and enthusiastically in interactions with prospective students, families, educators, and community partners.Maintain an informed understanding of contemporary creative practices and the fields represented across CalArts programs.Administrative and Team SupportMaintain accurate records of recruitment activities, prospective student interactions, and follow-up.Enter and update information in Slate and other designated systems.Assist with preparation and organization of recruitment materials and supplies.Support Admissions staff with recruitment projects and activities as assigned.Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development activities.Communicate recruitment observations, questions, and emerging issues to Admissions leadership.QualificationsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience in customer service, recruitment, education, student services, arts administration, event support, or a related fieldExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to engage comfortably and professionally with prospective students, families, educators, and community partnersStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple activities and changing prioritiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgmentAbility and willingness to travel as requiredAbility to work evenings and weekends as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degreeExperience in higher education admissions, college access, recruitment, or enrollment managementExperience representing an institution at college fairs, high school visits, or recruitment eventsExperience working in an arts, design, film, music, dance, theater, or creative education environmentFamiliarity with Slate or another admissions CRMKnowledge of CalArts programs and the contemporary creative artsWorking ConditionsTemporary, seasonal position with a schedule that may vary based on recruitment needs and the annual admissions cycleFrequent regional and national travel as assigned, including college fairs, high school visits, portfolio events, and information sessionsEvening and weekend work may be requiredWork may involve extended periods of standing, walking, presenting, and interacting with prospective students and familiesAn on-campus presence is required when performing campus-based
