Registered Nurse
Glen Oaks Hospital is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in a relaxed setting in Greenville, Texas. Our comfortable, homelike atmosphere is conducive to healing for the adults and seniors we treat. Our greatest asset is the staff, comprised of psychiatrists, professional nurses, social workers and therapists. These individuals work as a team to uphold Glen Oaks Hospital's reputation for excellence in helping patients resolve mental health and addiction problems. For nearly 40 years, Glen Oaks Hospital has been a leader in the field of mental health and chemical dependency care, and our staff is dedicated to researching the latest treatment approaches and applying this to our overall treatment philosophy.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the timely processing of inquiry and referral calls. Responsible for coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patient. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit. Pre-cert with payor source. Follow hospital's policies and procedures regarding admissions.
Position Hours: 7pm - 7am, three nights per week, rotating weekends
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, and CPR prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
