Admitting Specialist | Patient Registration CoordinatorJoin a dedicated healthcare team as an Admitting Specialist, where your role is vital in creating a welcoming and efficient patient intake experience. You will greet and register patients with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.Key Responsibilities:Interview and register patients promptly, maintaining a courteous tone and adhering to EMTALA guidelines.Input patient data accurately into the system, including emergency room arrivals, to facilitate identification and treatment consent.Serve as a communication bridge between patients, their families, and nursing or medical staff.Manage hospital switchboard operations, directing calls efficiently.Coordinate payment arrangements, collect deposits, and assist with financial aid or transportation for patients in need.Refer uninsured patients for Medicaid eligibility screening.Verify insurance details thoroughly, including payor information, policy numbers, and authorization requirements.Maintain precise registration records with detailed notes and updates as necessary.Assist with patient transport after proper training.Process in-house transfers and update hospital service codes accurately.Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational values and mission.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in medical registration or healthcare administration preferred.Experience: Previous experience in patient registration or admissions is highly valued.Requirements: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and proficiency with computer systems.This position is based in a regional healthcare facility serving the Southern United States, offering a supportive environment where your contributions make a meaningful difference.
