nThis position is an experienced role within Meijer’s Data Science & Analytics department. The Data Science & Analytics teams bring together a highly technical skillset, rooted in statistics and machine learning, with strong communication and collaboration capabilities to serve and partner with business areas across the enterprise. The Analyst role contributes to these efforts by developing and applying advanced analytic & machine learning solutions, proactively collaborating with and anticipating business needs. This role directly supports data-driven actions taken across the business to have a positive impact on sales, margin and profit performance as well as enriching the lives in the communities we serve.
nDuties and Responsibilities (Key Deliverables):
nDeliver against the overall strategy to enrich the lives in the communities we serve by delivering data-driven solutions across merchandising, marketing, supply chain, product flow, operations, real estate, and other areas of the business.
nnnLeadership &BusinessPartnership

nnPartnerwithbusiness stakeholderstobuild strong relationshipsandunderstandhowdata-driven insights and recommendations can support, enhance, and improve business outcomes.

nnAnticipate future business needs andidentifyopportunities that make substantial difference fororganization,andlead the development of analytics initiatives.

nnChampiontheadoption of advanced analytics capabilities and recommendations across the business.

nnBuild andmaintainrelationships with keyindustrypartners(eg:suppliers, vendors,CPGs) andcontinue toenhanceanalyticscapabilities,knowledgeand impact.

nnStayup-to-dateon news in the retail sector—such asstate-of-the-arttechnological developments or competitive incursions—andutilizethis information to generatepro-activeinsights & recommendations.

nnTechnical Skills
n
nnContribute subject matterexpertiseand methodological designofholistic, custom insights & recommendations for each area of the business by developing custom algorithms,statistical models, machine learningsolutionsand artificial intelligence.
n
nnDevelop scorecards and partner with reporting teams to improve reporting effectiveness.
n
nnLeverage disparate data sourcesand various platformsfor holistic understanding to solve complex business problems.
n
nnDevelop actionable recommendations (marketing, real estate, merchandising)
n
nnDefine and analyze Key Performance Indicators tomonitorthe overall health and measure value of the data products

nnCommunication

nnCommunicate these highly technical concepts and resultsthroughexpertdata-drivenstory-tellingvia in-person presentations, virtual presentations, email communications, and dashboards & reporting.

nnDrive adoption and usage of analyticalinsights, dataproducts,models, and recommendations.

nJob Requirements
nEducation
nnBachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics,Economicsorother quantitative field or Relevant Experience. Master’s Degree Preferred
n nExperience
nnn2+ years of relevant analytics experience in an applied role—preferably within retail,logistics, supply chain, or CPG.
n
nnNice to have certifications: Safe Agile, Azure, Databricks, Python
n
n nFunction/Technical Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required
nnnDemonstrated strengthsusing several of the following: Python, Databricks, Azure ML, Azure Cognitive Service, SAS, R, SQL,PySpark,Numpy, Pandas, Scikit Learn, TensorFlow,PyTorch,AutoTS, Prophet, NLTK,PowerBI, Teradata, Geospatial Platforms (eg: Placer, ESRI)
n
nnExperience with Azure Cloud technologies including Azure DevOps, Azure Synapse,MLOps, GitHub
n
nnExperience developing enterprise reporting, dashboards, and semantic models using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, DAX, and Tabular Editor
n
nnExperience working with large datasets from disparate sources and developing statistical models and/or ML/AI systemssuch as:natural language processing, speech/text/image recognition, supervised and unsupervised learning models, spatial modeling, forecasting and/or econometric time series models.
n
nnExperience working ina cross-functional teamswith preference in: Business/Financial Analysis, Promotional Analytics, Customer Analytics, Pricing, Merchandising, Media Analytics, Corporate Real Estate Analytics,Pharmacy,etc.
n
nnMulti-channel experience preferred – familiar with both in-store/branch and digital analytics.
n
nnStrong work ethic; Proactive and action oriented.
n
nnExcellent communication skills: listening,verbalandwritten.

nnAbility to collaborate with, and present to internal and external partners, including leadership

nnStrong organizational, planning, and time management skills withabilityto prioritize multiple/competing projects and assignments.
