Advanced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) | Full-Time Day ShiftSteelville, MO $35,099 - $46,099 a yearJoin a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Advanced Certified Medical Assistant. This role involves providing essential patient care under the guidance of licensed nurses, physicians, or advanced practice providers. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection control and safe patient handling.Engage directly with patients by escorting them, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, and verifying medical histories and medications.Document patient information accurately and promptly in medical records.Manage communication by routing phone messages, answering patient inquiries, and assisting with physician callbacks.Support medication management including renewals, authorizations, and administration of oral, IM, and SQ medications as ordered.Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.Schedule appointments, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures as directed by providers.Maintain supply inventory and ensure exam areas are clean and well-stocked.Educate patients on electronic health record portals and assist with enrollment.Assist in orienting and training new medical assistants.Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.EducationCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Specialist program or equivalent experience. High school diploma required.ExperienceAt least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or related medical specialist preferred. Experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.Certifications and LicensesRegistered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.Mental and Physical RequirementsRequires significant mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, and various movements such as stooping and reaching.Working ConditionsExposure to infectious diseases and occasional challenging interactions with patients. Minimal physical discomfort expected.
