By collaborating across RTX and cultivating strong partnerships with academia, industry, and government organizations, we deliver the next generation of advanced capabilities for the warfighter and our acquisition customers.

The Advanced Technology Business Unit is seeking a technically strong Program/Capture Manager, Associate Director to lead both capture and execution of Advanced Materials research and development programs for customers such as DARPA, AFRL, and ONR.

U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

This is an onsite role and can be located at one of the following Raytheon sites: Andover, MA; McKinney, TX; Arlington, VA; Tucson, AZ; or Portsmouth, RI.

What You Will Do

Lead engineering teams in developing concepts and solutions that address customer‑identified technology needs and warfighter capability gaps.

Lead cross‑functional teams in creating compelling white papers and developing winning proposals.

Lead program teams in the successful execution of technology‑focused contracts.

Build strong, trusted relationships with customers, competitors, industry partners, and government organizations to gather business intelligence and shape winning teams.

Develop and lead internal investment projects, including Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and capital initiatives, to strengthen new business opportunities and program execution.

Support the AMTT Director in developing and executing strategy, meeting financial commitments, and managing budgets.

Support the AMTT Director with internal and external communications, reviews, and business reporting.

Mentor, coach, and train employees across multiple functions to foster an innovative, flexible, and high‑performing team environment.

Maintain a Raytheon presence at key technical conferences and meetings.

Travel as required to support customers, partners, and program objectives.

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 12 years of prior chemical or materials engineering experience.

Experience in capture management and/or managing technology development programs.

Experience creating advanced materials research and development projects.

Relationship or network with U.S. Government Research and Development organizations and laboratories, Federally Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs), industry, and/or academic technical and programmatic leaders in the R&D community.

Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start.

Ph.D. or advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.

Recognized subject‑matter expertise and leadership in materials science or a related field.

Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver results across multiple concurrent efforts.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to direct, influence, motivate, and guide team members.

Experience in a multidisciplinary CRAD environment, including new business capture, proposal development, technology evaluation, program management, and technical contribution.

Experience in securing Intellectual Property for emerging technologies.

Experience with advanced ceramic, composites and metal technologies, as well as familiarity with U.S. Government and industry organizations, test facilities, and associated assets.

Experience in advanced materials processing, characterization, and maturation for use in next‑generation advanced technology systems.

Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Security Clearance Type: Secret - Current Security Clearance Status: Active and existing security clearance required on day 1.

What We Offer

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position requires a security clearance.
