This part-time, day-shift role is perfect for a motivated Medical Assistant eager to support clinical staff and enhance patient experiences.General SummaryThe Medical Assistant operates within their scope of practice to assist licensed nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers. This role demands strong organizational skills, professionalism, excellent customer service, attention to detail, multitasking ability, critical thinking, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdhere to established safety protocols including infection control and safe patient handling.Provide direct patient interaction such as escorting patients, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, verifying medications and allergies, and documenting medical histories and visit reasons accurately and promptly.Manage communication by routing phone messages, answering patient inquiries, and assisting with physician return calls.Assist with medication renewals, authorizations, and administration (oral, IM, SQ) as ordered.Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.Schedule appointments, diagnostic procedures, and surgeries as directed by providers.Complete necessary paperwork including prior authorizations and referrals in a timely manner.Maintain supply inventory, clean and stock exam rooms, and educate patients on electronic health record access.Support orientation and training of new medical assistants.Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.EducationCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Specialist program is required, or equivalent experience. A high school diploma is mandatory.ExperienceAt least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role is preferred but not required. Experience in a medical clinic environment is advantageous.Certification and LicensesRegistered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited organization such as AMT is preferred.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.Mental and Physical RequirementsThis position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.Working ConditionsFrequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur. Exposure to blood and bodily fluids is common, with minimal physical discomfort expected.
