This role supports oncology services by assisting with patient management and clinical procedures tailored to the needs of the practice.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal clinical signs to identify at-risk patients.Respond promptly to patient inquiries via telephone, offering reassurance, education, and appropriate triage.Ensure smooth healthcare delivery during patient visits by preparing patients for examinations, obtaining vital signs, and documenting medical histories and chief complaints accurately.Observe and communicate abnormal patient symptoms to physicians, ensuring thorough documentation in electronic medical records.Assist physicians with testing, treatments, minor surgeries, and physical exams, including applying splints, dressings, and managing sample medications.Coordinate patient testing, referrals, and follow-up communications, ensuring patients understand physician instructions and treatment plans.Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, and ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and equipment.Education and Experience:Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program is required.This position operates within a healthcare facility located in a regional area of the Midwest United States, offering a supportive and dynamic clinical atmosphere.
