Advanced Medical Assistant MA - OncologyTyler, MN $37,009 - $46,099 a yearFull TimeJob SummaryProvide compassionate clinical support and patient care management in a dynamic healthcare setting. Responsibilities vary daily based on practice needs, focusing on delivering high-quality care to patients.Essential ResponsibilitiesDeliver direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk patients. Provide reassurance, education, and clear guidance to patients. Manage telephone triage effectively.Facilitate smooth healthcare delivery during patient visits by ensuring medical records are accurate and up to date. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. Monitor and communicate abnormal patient signs to physicians, documenting all findings thoroughly. Ensure patients understand physician instructions upon discharge and accurately document billing information.Support physicians with testing and treatment procedures, including applying splints and dressings. Manage medication samples and logs, coordinate patient testing and referrals, and assist with minor surgeries and physicals. Obtain necessary consents for invasive procedures and immunizations. Provide patient education and verify understanding of treatments and medications. Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs.Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, and ensuring cleanliness and sterility of instruments and equipment.Perform additional duties as assigned, adapting to evolving clinical needs.Education and Experience RequiredGraduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program.
