Advanced Patient Care Assistant (CNA) - Float PoolSaint Thomas, MO $32,009 - $41,099 a yearFull TimeGeneral Summary:Under the general supervision of a licensed nurse (RN, LPN, or shift manager), the Advanced Patient Care Assistant provides direct patient care with compassion and attention to safety.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Adheres to established safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling. Performs basic patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility. Works closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs promptly, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Accurately documents all care activities to support clinical decision-making and communicates relevant patient information to the healthcare team to enhance outcomes.Education:High school diploma or GED preferred.Experience:One year of related experience preferred.Certification/License:Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential preferred. Candidates without certification or with less than one year of experience are required to complete a specialized Patient Care Assistant training program. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided.Mental/Physical Requirements:Requires considerable mental focus. Physical demands include lifting up to 35 lbs., frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and other movements necessary for patient care.Working Conditions:Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.This role serves a regional community in the Midwest, supporting a diverse patient population across multiple counties.
