About Women’s Health Center of Maryland (WHCMD)
Women’s Health Center of Maryland was founded in 2023 after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, ending half a century of legal precedence protecting a person’s right to access legal abortion. Recognizing the need for more abortion clinics located in key access states like Maryland, WHCMD opened its doors in September 2023. We are a nonprofit, independent sexual and reproductive health clinic that offers medication and procedural abortion, annual exams, breast/chest and cervical cancer screenings, contraception, STI testing and treatment, and gender-affirming hormone therapy. WHCMD is in Mountain Maryland, less than five miles from the border of West Virginia.
