Job description

Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC) has locations in Othello and the Central District. Services at the clinics include pediatric medical care, behavioral health, dental services, nutrition, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and more. Since 1970, OBCC has worked to uphold the vision of community organizer Odessa Brown: to bring quality healthcare with dignity to children from birth to young adulthood in the Central District and south Seattle.

nPosition Summary

nWe are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our primary care team. As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will deliver direct clinical care and assume primary responsibility for the clinical management of pediatric patients in an ambulatory setting.

nIn this role, you will work closely with department attending physicians, specialists, behavioral health professionals, and community advocacy teams to provide effective, efficient, safe, and culturally responsive care.

nKey Responsibilities

nnnDirect Patient Care: Perform comprehensive health histories, physical examinations, and routine well-child visits (following AAP guidelines from newborn through age 21) as well as urgent care/same-day evaluations.

nnDiagnostic & Clinical Management: Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests; formulate clinical diagnoses; prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments; and develop ongoing management plans.

nnCoordinated & Continuing Care: Direct and participate in complex case management and continuing care transitions for patients with chronic medical, developmental, or social complexities.

nnInterprofessional Collaboration: Consult and collaborate with attending physicians, pediatric subspecialists, dental and behavioral health partners, and social services to deliver holistic care.

nnQuality Improvement: Contribute to organizational, clinic-wide, and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement (CQI) initiatives aimed at improving clinical outcomes and health equity.

nnEducation & Research: Participate in patient, family, and health care team education, supporting community outreach initiatives and ongoing clinical research or advocacy efforts.

n nRequired Education and Experience:

nMaster's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.

nOne year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.

nRequired Credentials:

nFor Nurse Practitioners:

nActive, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington

nCurrent national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner

nFor Physician Assistants:

nActive, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington

nInitial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

nFor All Providers:

nActive Drug Enforcement Authority registration

nCurrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.

nSome clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification.

nActive clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

nPreferred:

nTwo years experience in advanced practice provider role

nTwo years experience in pediatric health care

nCompensation Range

n$109,857 - $161,569 per year

nThis position is eligible for relocation for qualified candidates.

nSalary Information

nThis compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

nThis compensation range is specific to Seattle, positions located outside of Seattle may be compensated differently depending on various factors .
