nThis position has been allocated for an Advanced Practice Provider, board certified as either a physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Both Pediatric and Adult patients will be cared for. Please ensure your license allows for that prior to submitting an application.

nnn7-19:00: 12-hour shifts, including shared weekends and holidays

nn2 shifts per pay period, 53 shifts annually

n nJob Description Summary
nWe are seeking an experienced inpatient APP to join our Hospitalist team at Intermountain Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton. Bear River Hospital is a 16-bed facility that offers a broad range of wellness, diagnostic, and treatment services, features a Level IV Trauma Center, and is supported by Intermountain's virtual hospital and Life Flight air medical transport.
nThe Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a critical role in the management of adult and pediatric hospitalized patients, with a primary focus on those on general medicine floors. In this role you will work with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, case managers, nurses, dietitians, and pharmacists to provide optimal patient care and outcomes.
nKey Responsibilities:
nAdvanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:
nnnConduct comprehensive assessments, including history and physical examinations.
n
nnDevelop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
n
nnManage acute and chronic medical conditions, including initiating appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
n
nnWork closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
n
nnFacilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring that patients and their families are informed and involved in care decisions and care transitions.
n
nnMaintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress notes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
n
nnEnsure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and best practice standards.
n
nnParticipate in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with advancements in critical care and internal medicine.
n
nnEngage in quality improvement initiatives within the hospitalist program and hospital.
n
nnParticipate in hospital committees, task forces, and meetings as required.

nQualifications
nnnLicensure/Certification:
n
nnCurrent licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Utah
n
nnBoard certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
n
nnDEA Certificate II through V - DOJ Drug Enforcement Division
n
nnACLS and BLS certification for healthcare providers
n
nnPALS Certification for healthcare providers
n
nnExperience:
n
nnMinimum of 2 years of inpatient APP experience; hospitalist or critical care setting preferred.
n
nnPediatrics and Adults.
n
nnSkills and Abilities:

nnFrequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
n
nnManual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
n
nnMay be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
n
n nOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

n nExpected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

n nNeed to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
