nJob Overview:

nThe Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider provides medical care and treatment to Neonates in the critical care setting under the direction of a Neonatologist. Responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of newborn/neonatal care delivered to patients who present to the NICU and Labor and Delivery Unit. Performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and interprets laboratory studies. Prescribes appropriate interventions and medications. Utilizes Neonatal Nurse practitioner protocols and nursing care practice for Neonates and Newborn patients. Discusses cases with Obstetrician and Neonatologist. Provides education to patients.

nnNNP Certification with NICU RN experience

nnPrimary Care Pediatric NP Certification with PICU setting procedural experience as an APP

nnAcute Care Pediatric NP Certification with APP experience in an inpatient setting

n

n nPA Specific Requirements

nnnPA License

n

nnPICU or NICU experience

n

nnNew grad PAs require intensive NICU fellowship

n

nnNCCPA

n

n nScheduling Requirements:

nnnFull time (40 Hours)

n

nnOn-call

n

nnHoliday Rotation

n

n nEssential Functions:

nnnConduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients.

n

nnDiagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions under the supervision of a physician.

n

nnDevelop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

n

nnPerform procedures as necessary.

n

nnWork closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.

n

nnCommunicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health education.

n

nnStay current with medical best practices, guidelines, and regulations.

n

nnEngage in continuing education and professional development activities.

n

nnParticipate in research or quality improvement projects as directed or needed.
