nThe University of Miami (UHealth) Department of UPAC has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at UTower in Miami. The incumbent delivers medical care to a wide variety of patients. The APRN is also examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. May prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
nnnPerforms and documents complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
n
nnFunctions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for patients.
n
nnOrders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
n
nnPrescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
n
nnImplements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.
n
nnAssists with the provision of care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
n
nnMonitors the effectiveness of interventions.
n
nnFacilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
n
nnCollaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
n
nnFacilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.
n
nnAdheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
n

n1 year of relevant advanced practice nursing experience - required
nCertification and Licensing:Valid State of Florida APRN license requiredAdult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP) - preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
