Job Description

nThe Advanced Practitioners roles as Physician’s Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will support International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. in providing a comprehensive range of medical care to US government employees and contractors in Iraq. Clinics are responsible for a variety of on-site primary, urgent, and initial emergency care services. The Advanced practitioner is responsible for leadership and management of clinic staff.

nKey Responsibilities

nnLead and oversee medical staff at a DOS/DOS healthcare clinic.

nCollaborate with on-site physicians, other APPs, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.

nParticipate in the assessment and stabilization of patients requiring urgent or emergent care.

nProvide comprehensive primary and continuing care to patients presenting with a wide range of health concerns.

nClinic services include, but are not limited to health promotion and disease prevention, health maintenance counselling and patient education, diagnosis and directed physical exams, emergent and annual vaccinations, comprehensive STD Testing

nManage simple chronic conditions through intermittent monitoring.

nConsult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

nMaintain compliance with all project site procedures, standards, and continuing educational and mandatory training requirements.

nCoordinate with medical evacuation teams for patients requiring care beyond the capabilities of the clinic.

nParticipate in MASCAL exercises.

nCompletes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

nnQualifications:

Qualifications

nBasic Requirements/Certifications:

nnFull unrestricted U.S. (State) Licensure, Certification, or Registration required in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.

nCertified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.

nMust be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.

nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

nMinimum 5 years’ recent experience including 6 months within the last year

nExperience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.

n nEducation Required:

nnGraduate of accredited or provisionally accredited American Academy of Physician Assistants and hold a NCCPA certification.

nGraduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner School and hold a AANP or ANCC.

n nPhysical Requirements:

nnMust meet pre-deployment physical requirements

nWork involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.

nMay require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.

n nOther Special Qualifications:

nnUS Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.

nValid US Passport with at least 18 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq.

nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.

nMust be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.

nMust be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.

n nAdditional Information

nPay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
