Advanced RN Clinical Educator - Cardiac ICU

This full-time day position offers a rewarding opportunity to foster the educational growth and professional development of nursing staff within a cardiac intensive care unit. You will design and implement orientation programs, in-service training, and continuing education tailored to the unique physical, psychosocial, and age-related needs of the patient population.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a professional role model and consultant for the cardiac ICU team.
Respond to code blue situations on the unit.
Act as a resource nurse when needed, assisting in system assessments and identifying improvement opportunities.
Participate in setting and evaluating unit goals.
Coordinate and deliver formal and informal educational sessions for all unit staff, including agency personnel.
Assess educational needs and facilitate staff involvement in program development.
Provide input for staff evaluations and function as a preceptor during orientation and internships.
Stay current with advances in nursing skills, techniques, equipment, and supplies.
Maintain education files and ensure completion of staff competencies.
Education
Current Registered Nurse licensure is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory or actively pursued with completion within three years. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a master's degree in a related health field is preferred. Nursing certification is also desirable.
Experience
Three to five years of recent experience in cardiac surgery ICU nursing is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills, effective organizational and leadership abilities, and teaching expertise are essential. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and the ability to make presentations. The role may involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
