Senior Patrol Officer (Corporal)Join a dedicated healthcare security team serving a broad regional community in the Midwest. This role offers an opportunity to lead and protect within a dynamic healthcare environment, ensuring safety and security for patients, visitors, and staff.The Senior Patrol Officer (Corporal) is responsible for routine surveillance of healthcare premises, grounds, and buildings, while also acting as a first-line supervisor within the security department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develops schedules for the Public Safety Department and participates in performance evaluations.Leads and trains subordinate officers in line with established policies and procedures.Maintains accurate records and documentation of daily activities, rounds, and incidents in compliance with departmental standards.Serves as an instructor and trainer to ensure the safety and protection of all individuals within the facility.Provides supervision and guidance to Public Safety Officers.Assists in managing crisis or emergency situations efficiently and professionally alongside department leadership.Supports administrative tasks such as maintaining call statistics and minor office duties.Education:Graduation from an accredited law enforcement academy is required.Experience:Preferred: At least 1 year of road experience as a Patrol Officer or 4 years of active law enforcement detention experience.Certification and License:Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.Must be a commissioned law enforcement officer in good standing with the state POST Commission or have held a valid commission within the last three years.Mental and Physical Requirements:Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, perform necessary calculations, and interpret policies related to safety and security. The role requires standing, walking, sitting, and lifting. Strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple crisis situations professionally under stress are essential. Knowledge of hospital codes and emergency procedures is required.Working Conditions:This position may involve long periods of standing and walking and exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, noise, chemicals, infectious diseases, and potentially aggressive individuals. Interaction with patients, families, visitors, and staff is frequent.
