Job description
The Local Palate magazine is seeking a seasoned, talented, and enthusiastic Advertising Sales Executive . Candidates to be considered must possess a minimum of three years experience in an account executive or sales management role, understand how to sell print, digital, event partnerships and sponsorships. Client relationships within the travel and tourism, consumer products, luxury, shelter, and culinary space will be given priority. Individual must have the ability to plan for the larger picture while prioritizing immediate tasks, be an adept multi-tasker with proven communication and sales skills, and be highly motivated and deadline-driven. Experience in the tourism (CVB) world is a plus; an understanding of Southern food culture is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
Continuously improve through feedback
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience
Proven ability to generate revenue across multiple media platforms
Great drive and enthusiasm
Ability to travel
Deal oriented
Independently motivated, but with a collaborative spirit
Culinary familiarity
Consistently meets or exceeds goals
Proven understanding of effective budgeting, marketing, and business plans
Detail-oriented and deadline savvy
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Public speaking prowess
Superior writing skills
Flexible, with excellent time-management skills
