Join a compassionate team as an Emergency Department Peer Support Specialist, providing vital expertise, advocacy, and consultation to enhance patient care plans. This role emphasizes behavioral health discharge planning and facilitating warm handoffs to community resources.
Education
Must hold a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (NCCPSS) or National Certified Peer Specialist Certification (NCPSC).
Experience
At least two years of experience as a Peer Support Specialist, ideally with collaboration experience alongside Emergency Medical Services. Familiarity with mental health and substance use disorder treatment providers, as well as recovery support community members in the Southeastern U.S. region, is essential.
Requirements
Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect patients and families with appropriate services.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
