Summary
nDelta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to produce A&E / Civil site design plans in the telecom and renewable energy sectors. Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to jurisdictional design code interpretation, site planning and design tasks, CAD design and production, and client and project stakeholder communication. This position will require a minimum of one year (1) year of experience (or internships) in the A&E telecommunications, renewable energy, or similar field.
nDuties and Responsibilities
nThe selected individual will be expected to lead projects from commencement to completion, including the ability to:
nDemonstrate technical knowledge of basic site-layout, civil, electrical, grounding, and structural aspects of telecommunications and/or renewable energy facilities
nDevelop detailed design drawings and specifications for telecommunications/renewable energy projects using computer-assisted drafting (AutoCAD) equipment
nResearch codes and create construction drawings that adhere to various construction, permitting, and zoning regulations for widely varying geographic locations
nPerform ground-based inspections/audits and related functions at telecommunications/renewable energy sites with limited supervision
nCoordinate with client representatives, governing agency personnel, and other project stakeholders to determine various project specifics
nHelp develop and maintain AutoCAD standards and adhere to department protocol for drawing setup, publishing, and record keeping
nRequired Experience and Technical Skills Design experience amounting to a minimum of two (2) years practice in the telecommunications/renewable energy field is preferred. Additionally, the candidate should have experience relating to the following:
nProficiency with computer drafting software, AutoCAD, is required
nExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
nProficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word is required
nKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings.
nExperience in the telecommunications industry, including the review and interpretation of carrier RFDS is strongly preferred.
nPrior experience with civil engineering projects encompassing land development, transportation, renewable energy, or utility design is strongly preferred
nCurrent aptitude or ability to develop an understanding of regulatory requirements and basic civil- site related design practices preferred
nPossess mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
nMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s standards — employment contingent upon passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
nEducation Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a civil engineering, architecture, graphic design, or drafting related field. Similar experience in the telecommunications/renewable energy industry of two years will be considered based on Hiring Manager decision.
