Job description
Painter IPosition Overview:The Painter I position is an introduction to painting aircraft parts. You will be cleaning or prepping surfaces of parts and getting familiar with our paint processes. You will be responsible for setting up the equipment used to apply paint. All paint processes will be performed in accordance with customer specifications and requirements. Work will be done under close supervision.Duties and Responsibilities:Learn & understanding practical painting processes and proceduresRead and understand traveler instructions and special notesLearning basic knowledge on prepping parts including sanding, flipping, and racking parts, this will include various sizes, lengths, shapes, and weightsLearn mixing portions of paint. (i.e., thinners, polyurethane)Familiarization of paint guns, equipment & toolingCount and record number of pieces being paintedAdheres to company policies, quality procedures and safety standardsSkills:Good command of the English language, both written and spokenAbility to read and interpret process specifications, procedures, and customer purchase ordersAbility to solve practical process or procedural problems/issuesMust have good penmanshipAble to maintain a high level of attention to detailBasic computer skills. (i.e., MS Office)Required Education and Experience:6-month experienceWorking Conditions:Work is performed in a typical processing environment.Prime and Paint are done in a booth with either a full-face respirator or supplied air hood.Use and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to walking, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, transporting supplies or equipment, sitting or standing for extended periods of time & occasionally lifting & carrying items which may weigh up to 25 lbs. & occasionally up to 50 lbs.Shift Schedules:2nd Shift: 2:45pm - 11:00pmThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
