This is an on-site position located in Goleta, CA.
Pay
Toyon provided pay range: $115,000.00/yr - $185,000.00/yr . The posted pay range values provide guidance on annual base compensation for a full-time position, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, and may vary by candidate education, experience, and qualifications.
Responsibilities
Toyon is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to join a team designing mechanical prototypes of reentry bodies and related configurations. This position requires a strong background in the application of materials to the design of articles subjected to high temperature environments. This individual will play a key role in the development of the design of aerospace vehicles and evaluation of their performance.
Qualifications
B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) with emphasis on heat transfer, mechanical design, and structural analysis and 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with predicting aerothermal heating in supersonic/hypersonic environments, including the response of thermal protection materials to aerothermal environments.
Experience using a variety of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and phenomenologically based boundary layer and inviscid flow codes.
Security and Eligibility
U.S. Citizenship is Required. Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance required. Candidate must be SAP and SCI program eligible.
