Job description
Campus MonitorThe Campus Monitor provides essential assistance in the daily operation of the Firewall Centers program. Throughout the after-school day, the Campus Monitor will provide safety checks for students and school facilities. The Monitor will work in coordination with school faculty and Firewall staff to keep the program running safely and smoothly.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Monitor cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, grounds, and parking lots to ensure safety for all until dismissal timeComplete daily security checklist and file it in folder appropriatelyCommunicate with staff using Firewall walkie-talkiesProvide Firewall staff with school walkie-talkie to listen for announcements from other security and administrationMaintain confidentialityMaintain good working relationships and professional demeanor with Firewall staff, students, and parentsPerform any other security-related duties as assignedScreen any visitors, check passes, and supervise during dismissal timeTrack working hours using Firewall database (Zech)On site 15 minutes prior to program start time and remains until the last student leaves, verified by staff scheduleClearly identifiable with a vest or shirt denoting Campus Monitor or Campus SecurityQualifications:Obtain a Broward County School Vendor BadgeMust be at least 18 years of age(Elementary Staff Only) Obtain DCF clearanceEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or equivalentExperience working in a camp or school settingMathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divideOther Skills And Abilities:Skill and ability to use and operate a laptop, tablet, and/or smartphonePhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:The noise level in the work environment can vary due to student involvement.* Job description responsibilities include but are not limited to the above.**All uniform costs will be deducted from an employee's last paycheck as a result of termination prior to the end of their contract term and/or 1 full year of service.
